A young tree may have the potential to thrive and become great but it is just beginning to grow. It was planted in the shadow of a stone wall where the leaves can’t quite feel the warmth of the sun. If only the wall were a little shorter, if only the branches reached a little higher, there would be opportunities for it to flourish. Growth is always dependent on circumstances, not just ambition.
